3. No guns to be cleaned in the new clubroom.
4. First time visitors (guests) to the club, unless entered in a competition, are entitled to a free introductory day. All subsequent visits will require the normal visitor fee to be paid.

(Notice from PSNI 2nd Aug 2010).
In order to remove additional paperwork to be completed by applicants changes have been made to the referee process when completing firearms application form 30/1 as follows:
With immediate effect the referee form 30/41 will no longer require completion by individual referees. Part E of the application form 30/1 will still require completion and declaration by individual referees as that remains a requirement of Article 4 The Firearms (NI) Order 2004.
It will still be necessary to have each referee confirm the photographic details and if the application is for a target firearm then one referee must be an official of the member's firearm club.
The current application form 30/1 and associated guidance notes have been amended and are available to download from the forms page or at http://www.psni.police.uk/index/advice-and-legislation/firearms/advice_firearms_forms.htm It is accepted that there will be a considerable number of older forms and paperwork in circulation, however applications submitted on older type forms will not be rejected if there are no referee forms enclosed.

(Notice from PSNI 11th June 2010). In light of recent thefts of firearms belonging to members of target shooting clubs you are reminded to take all reasonable precautions to safeguard the security of your firearms. In particular:
l Don't draw unnecessary attention to firearms in public, i.e. whilst transporting them to and from approved ranges.
l Be vigilant whilst travelling to and from approved ranges and report any suspicious activity to local police.
l Do not leave the keys for any gun cabinets within the vicinity of the cabinet.
Note: It is a condition of your Firearm Certificate that where a bolt action rifle is held on certificate the bolt must be removed and stored separately in an approved gun cabinet/safe.
Where other types of firearm are held consideration should be given to storing barrels, slides, cylinders etc separately from the frame in an approved gun cabinet/safe.

The PSNI now require the 30/40 form for club approval for
variation or renewal of a firearms certificate be replaced with a 30/40(a) form which requires confirmation that each firearm has been used at least three times in the past 12 months.
It is the individuals responsibility to attend the club the required number of time per year to be able to log the use of each of the firearms and the disciplines that were shot with them in the attendance register.
Remember, if you don't use them you lose them.
